| Dr. Renney is an experienced sports medicine physician with a primary specialty in Family Practice and Emergency Medicine with additional years of experience in sports medicine. He has taken a subspecialty qualification examination in Sports Medicine. Sports Medicine Physicians specialize in the non-operative medical treatment of musculo-skeletal sports conditions. Approximately 90% of all sports injuries are non-surgical, and Dr. Renney can expedite referral to one of his associates when indicated, and can help guide referrals to appropriate rehabilitative care and ancillary services as needed. He serves as a Team Physician for Houston Independent School District. He is also a Doping Control Officer for the United States Anti doping Drug Agency. Dr. Renney also has an interest in Pudendal Nerve Entrapment and has been instrumental in developing a program for this problem in Houston, Texas. In May, 2002, Dr. Renney, Dr. Charles Popeney, and Dr. Lee Ansell traveled to Nantes, France, where they observed and participated in the diagnosis and treatment of PNE under the leadership of Professor Roger Robert, Dr. Labat, and Dr. Bensignor. In March, 2005, Dr. Renney, Dr. Charles Popeney, and Dr. Lee Ansell traveled to Aix en Provence, France, where they visited with Dr's Eric de Bisschop and Eric Bautrant and observed the TIR technique for PNE. The Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital is the site for the CT guided injections. We have developed a team of physicians for this procedure that include Dr. James Murphy, Dr. Ralph Weaver, and Dr Thomas Twiford. |
